My first thought about Wikis in schools is that it would be a valuable tool to use as communication between parents and the classroom. - Heather G
I hadn't thought about using it that way, Heather. My only concern would be documentation. Every time I communicate with a parent in writing I make a copy of the correspondence for my own records. This would be easy enough to do, I suppose, just print off a copy. - Greg S
Hi Greg. I was thinking more along the lines of using a wikispace as a classroom website. I could post a calendar of events, along with specific details about assignments. As well, I could create pages for students to check if they missed information in class...that kind of thing. :-) - Heather G
Sorry, Heather. I had a class last year that required an enormous amount of parent communication. Since then I jump to the conclusion that that is the reason for communicating with parents. After I had read your initial thoughts I did include something about using it as a class portal. - Greg
